Take a couple days and get away from the 21st Century on a charter sail to Southern California's Channel Islands. The National Park Service and The Nature Conservancy are making it possible as they return the Channel Islands to a condition not much different from the days when the last Native Americans paddled to San Buenaventura. The National Park Service is bringing back Bald Eagles, nurturing the native foxes and sheltering endangered Brown Pelicans. If we cruise during the week, we see very few other boats, but we do see lots of wildlife: dolphins, occasional whales and birds beyond number.
Spend a day or two or take three to circumnavigate Santa Cruz Island. Relax in the solitude of Diablo anchorage or cruise to the southwestern shore and witness sunset at Morse Point.
