Who wants a California wedding on the beach?
- Those who want Capt./Chaplain Dan to officiate but who get seasick
- Those who want more than six people in the wedding party
- Those who don’t want to take a long break from surfing
How’s it work?
There are as many reasons to have a California wedding on the beach as there are couples. But mostly it’s about doing it your special and unforgettable way.
Since we don’t know each other, we’ll need to meet a time or two. I need to know who you are to craft our custom ceremony.
There are canned ceremonies, but that’s one of the things that most of my brides and grooms are trying to avoid. Your wedding will be totally about you. No ministers to offer you advice, no teachings from above, no tradition at all. This is all about you, your life together and your commitment to one another.
That’s it. Plain. Simple. To the point. And pretty quick.
These are very special days, sometimes interrupted by the universe. The wedding pictured at the top was one of those. It was delayed by the passage of a gray whale and her baby less than 100 yards from us. They spouted their congratulations until they were out of sight. It seemed like a sign to those who believe in signs.
I can’t promise you a whale at your California wedding on the beach, but I can promise a ceremony that is unique as you are as a couple.

By the way, we can perform your ceremony anywhere in SoCal – country club, beach, resort, park … anywhere but a church.
